Bite&Go presents All Around The Others, Turin october 31 - november 3 2024 On the occasion of "The Others", the Bite&Go project, conceived by Nicoletta Rusconi, presents All-Around with the works of Arjan Shehaj (Patos, Albania, 1989), a recent finalist for the Cairo Prize, and Jaime Poblete (Santiago de Chile, 1981), fresh from his collaboration with the Gucci fashion house. All-Around, in the round, alludes to the form chosen by the artists for the two works on display, a symbol of a thousand-year-old tradition in the history of art, but above all of circularity and union between techniques, peoples and the environment. Arjan Shehaj's work is characterized by a dense tangle of lines, which chase each other in a play of light and shadow, voids and signs, creating three-dimensional volumes and shapes. His pictorial gestures become almost a calligraphy, a writing made up of layers and overlaps, able to completely immerse the viewer in a space that includes all points of view and that grants an all-around vision. Jaime Poblete, on the other hand, influenced by his shamanic roots, creates his pictorial fabrics in every part, in the round, starting with the dip dyeing, continuing with the cutting, sewing, folding and final painting to accentuate contrasts and volumes. Although he does not use painting in the traditional way, Poblete creates lines and overlaps in a personal calligraphy made of warp and weft, in a three-dimensional gesture that becomes almost drawing, built on light and shadow.
