Pae White at MiArt 2015

At the invitation of MiArt, the Milan international modern and contemporary art fair, Nicoletta Rusconi Art Projects has imagined and designed a project of a VIP lounge, where to welcome and give a comfortable space to collectors, curators and speakers, and involve a new audience of art lovers from the business world. In collaboration with a leading brand of the Italian textile industry, we chose the Californian artist Pae White, who visited the company facilities and created a series of tapestries integrating cashmere with silver threads, Lurex, polyester and cotton. The two tapestries on display in the VIP lounge of MiArt 2015, marked out the space in an elegant and exciting way, creating an atmosphere of comfortable calm and reflection in the electric movement of the fair.

Pae White was born in Pasadena in 1963 and lives and works in Los Angeles. Experimenting with a wide variety of materials and artistic medium, the artist offers a playful dialogue between the artistic and the functional object. Present in the most important collections of contemporary art, she has exhibited at the MAK in Vienna, at the Power Plant in Toronto, at the Istanbul Modern, the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles and at the Venice Biennale.
Special thanks go to the Kaufmann Repetto Gallery.
